How to reach Spital am Semmering

bulletAir         Fly to Vienna which is well served by frequent flights from London and other major cities. It is also possible to travel to Bratislava airport, but it is approximately 3hours transfer., as is Budapest. bulletRail        The train can take you all of the way to Spital, or some what more conveniently to nearby Mürzzuschlag. taxis are more readily available in Mürzzuschlag. bulletRoad    Spital is approximately 12 hours drive from the Channel tunnel. the route is easy via motorway until the final 10 miles. Snow chains are not normally required.

 

How to reach Schruns

bulletAir  There are several options for reaching Schruns. The easiest is via Zürich, which  is well served by frequent flights from London and other major cities. Alternatively, one can fly to Frederichshafen with Ryan Air and then take the train onwards to Bregenz and Schruns. Please use the links provided to access airline timetables. bulletRail   Trains from Zürich airport are fast and convenient, taking two changes and around 3 hours 20 minutes to reach Schruns via Blüdenz. bulletBus  Another possibility in the skis season at weekends, is an express bus service to Bludenz from Zurich Airport. The journey time is 2hrs 15 miutes to Bludenz station. Onward connection can be via taxi or the local train service

bulletRoad     Travel towards lake Constance and Bregenz on the eastern shores, before heading east through Blüdenz to Schruns. snow chains can be expected to be used in times of more severe weather.
